Ninh Hải District

Ninh Hai (Vietnamese: Ninh Hải) is a district (huyện) of Ninh Thuan Province in the South Centra Coast region of Vietnam.

Geography

It is located along the coast of north-eastern Ninh Thuan, not far (though not bordering) from Cam Ranh in Khanh Hoa Province. It has a border with the provincial capital Phan Rang-Tháp Chàm, Thuận Bắc District, and a short border Bác Ái District.

Most of the district is mountainous, especially in the eastern part along the coast. The highest elevation is Chua mountain (núi Chúa) at the border to Thuận Bắc District.[1]

Nui Chua National Park is located in Ninh Hai District.

Infrastructure

Provincial road 702 connects Vinh Hy in the north-east of the district to Phan Rang. National Road 1A and the north-south railway run through the west of the district. There is a small port in the north at Vinh Hy.[1]

Demography

There is minority of Raglai people in the district. Some of them live in the mountains near Vinh Hy in the north-east.
